大地之愛創作理念

以阿美族人的主色紅、黑、白勾勒出山脈充滿生命力的線條，紅色在阿美族象徵著太陽，黑色則是土地，白色代表光、雲朵，其中雲朵也象徵著水，因為土地要有陽光、雨水才會肥沃。優席夫用濃烈鮮豔的色彩展現出藝術家對生命萬物的熱情。

藝術家優席夫‧卡照 

優席夫家鄉為花蓮縣玉里鎮馬太林部落，他長年旅居英國愛丁堡，有多年參加當地國際藝術節的資歷，也是極少數在歐洲以台灣原住民為創作主題，並活躍於國際藝壇的藝術家，創作從音樂、攝影延伸到繪畫，此外他也跨足節目主持，參與國家地理頻道跨國拍攝的《南島起源》節目，於2022年獲得金鐘獎「自然科學及人文紀實節目主持人獎」。

Love of the Land

Features of Artwork

Yosifu Kacaw uses red, black and white, the colors of the Amis, to paint vivid outlines of the mountains. He said that, to the Amis, red symbolizes the sun while black symbolizes the land, and white symbolizes light and the clouds; clouds also symbolize water, because the land needs sunlight and rainwater to be fertile. With the use of strong and vivid colors, he shows an artist's passion for all things in life.

Artist: Yosifu Kacaw 

Yosifu Kacaw hails from Matalim Village in Yuli Township, Hualien County. For many years, he has resided in Edinburgh and participated in international art festivals there, and he is also one of the very few artists in Europe whose work features the indigenous peoples of Taiwan and who is active in the international art scene. His work ranges from music to photography and painting. However, he has also made a career as a program host, participating in National Geographic’s The Origins of the Austronesians and winning a Golden Bell Award for “Best Host in a Natural Science and Humanities Documentary Show” in 2022.
